Hotel Review: Taman Ayu Cottage Petitenget, Seminyak, Bali

Having spend some night at calm area of East Bali, I have doubt that we can adapt to a bustling hotel in Seminyak Area. Some question swirling in my head: what if I could hear the noise from a club next door, instead of the noise from frog and dragonfly, or the motorcycle traffic instead of the sounds of wave that I began to used to?

Taman Ayu Cottage, despite of its location at the heart of newly developed area of Petitenget, has such a beautiful garden that shields practically any noise from outside. It is like we are staying in the middle of a village, especially with rabbit & cat running free, monkey hanging around and peacock within vicinity. Best of all? Our room's balcony is facing this mini garden.

Room Overview and Amenities

Our hotel room is located on 2nd floor, with a balcony facing the mini garden. The hotel room is painted in cream-white, with decent lightning. It has a TV, the first one we found after 4 days trip.

The bathroom is equipped with bath tub and hot shower. There are bathroom amenities, such as shampoo and shower gel. Two pair of clean towel are also available in the bathroom.



Inside the cupboard there are 2 kimono, to be worn after shower if you prefer.

The Balcony and The Garden

As said before, the best feature of this Hotel is the garden. We woke up pretty early, and spend most of the morning sipping a cup of tea while reading book at the balcony. Meanwhile, below, a lady was teaching yoga to a man, while 2 tourist sunbathing at the swimming pool



"The cat jump like a rabbit", my wife said. The cat and the rabbit goes on quite well, sharing the lush green of the hotel. The monkey seems to be happy swinging from trees to trees. What would be unusual is the peacock, tehre are 3 of them in 3 separate cage. Would they run away if being released?

Going Around

Being in the middle of Petitenget road, Seminyak, there are many place of interest within a short walk. The Petitenget beach is 10 minutes walk away. There, within the complex of Pura Petitenget, we have our breakfast at a semi open-air restaurant La Lucciola. The air was perfect, the sky is blue, and the ocean's wave rolls very smoothly contrasting the white sandy beach.

Motorcycle and car rental is available in Taman Ayu Cottage. With those transportation, you can easily reach Seminyak area, either for dining at our favorite restaurant Warung Italia, grab some sweets at Cafe Moka, go clubbing at Double Six, or just go for few bottle of beer at Ku De Ta.

Once catch is that, the main road in front of the street is flooded during heavy rain, which makes walking quite inconvenient. But overall, Taman Ayu Cottage is a keeper for a stay in the crowded South Bali Area
